See every saved snap grouped by the person who sent it.

Your Snapchat export is a folder of thousands of files with names like 2021-02-18_b~EiQSFWlJR0lLSzNUc3BrV.jpg. Memory Vault turns it back into what it actually was: conversations. Years of saved snaps with your partner, your best friend, your sister, in order, with captions intact.

WHAT IT DOES

Threads every saved snap and memory by the conversation it came from
Shows who sent what, and when: every conversation is labelled with how long ago you last spoke, and every snap with "Sarah, March 2022"
Swipe through a conversation the way you did originally: tap to advance, hold to pause
Keeps caption stickers and drawings composited on the photo
Plays videos inline
Surfaces your Memories in date order, with their original dates
Saves anything back to your camera roll with dates and GPS restored
Shows anything it cannot confidently attribute in a by-date view, rather than guessing at a sender

EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

Memory Vault never asks for your Snapchat password. It has no login. It never connects to Snapchat's servers. It reads only the export file you download from Snapchat yourself, and it processes it entirely on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create.

You can delete every imported byte from inside the app at any time, under Profile, then Manage Storage.

FREE, WITH ONE OPTIONAL UNLOCK

Importing your export and reading your conversations is free. Your most recent three months of media are free to view, and your first ten saves back to your camera roll are free. If you want the rest of your archive and unlimited saving, one purchase unlocks it. It is a single one-time purchase, not a subscription, and there is nothing else to buy.

HOW TO GET YOUR EXPORT

Go to accounts.snapchat.com and sign in
Choose My Data, then submit a request
Snapchat emails you a download link, usually within 24-48 hours, though Snapchat says it can take up to 7 days
Open the file in Memory Vault

Memory Vault reads both the Memories-only export and the full data export, including multi-part exports of 15 GB or more. It reads them in place, so it does not need a second copy of your archive to work.

Memory Vault is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Snap Inc. or Snapchat. "Snapchat" and "Snap" are trademarks of Snap Inc. Memory Vault reads only the data export file you download from Snapchat yourself and never connects to Snap's services.
